A new breed of drivers will be given their chance to shine at Sydney Motorsport Park, with CAMS teaming up with Motum Simulation to host the Shannons Nationals first ever Esports round, for Round 1 of the VSR Showdown. The VSR Showdown is the ultimate contest!

For Round 1 at Shannons Nationals, drivers from the physical and virtual worlds will go head to head in a knock-out competition, with the winner of the event getting a chance to show off their real world skills with a test day in a CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Car. For those in Sim Racing that haven’t had the budget to go real world racing, here is a great opportunity to experience the thrill of driving a high performance vehicle and impress the motorsport world.

Unlike the usual sim racing, we’re using a full motion rig with virtual reality. This unique, immersive experience blurs the lines between the real and the virtual, creating an even playing field for all our drivers. Our game of choice is iRacing, which is arguably the industry-standard in competitive sim racing simulations. iRacing is used as a training tool by professional racing drivers and teams to develop technique and improve driver performance, and provide the most intense simulated racing experience you will find.

The Majors Series runs only the most iconic and revered races in the world. From road courses and ovals, in every car imaginable.

How it started… In May of 2013 the Northwest Club decided to stage its’ own Indy 500. Twenty six drivers took part and from there the idea of a full fledged series of “Majors” was born.

Mario Andretti Connection…

To succeed in the Majors Series, drivers must excel at all different types of racing. In the history of racing, no driver has been more versatile or universally skilled than Mario Andretti. In 2016 Mr. Andretti graciously granted the Majors Series use of his name on our Champions Trophy, and so the “Mario Andretti Drivers Champion” was born.
