Ethan Warren Takes Calculated First Win at The Glen!
Watkins Glen always turns on some great racing and last night was no exception with action aplenty the whole 250km. For Trans Tasman Racing, it was a night of personal bests for the team including a new first time winner in Ethan Warren!
Ethan Warren since joining the team for 2021 has made huge steps forward in not only his speed but his approach to his racing. In Round 7, we finally saw Ethan rewarded with his first race win after an extremely calculated drive. A huge congrats on behalf of everyone at TTR, a mega result and joins a very exclusive club of V8 SCOPS Premier Series race winners.
Josh Anderson saw a resurgence of speed and a return to the podium in his #36 Perenso Commodore. Josh has worked the last few rounds to get back to the front of the field. To see him able to do that this round and race smart all race long was great to see. It will no doubt be a huge confidence boost for future rounds.
Leigh Ellis grabbed P4 which is his highest finish in a solo V8SCOPS race! Leigh is always fast at Watkins and 2021 proved to be no different. A fantastic qualifying session finishing in 7th gave Leigh decent track position to fight his way forward. Congrats Leigh, you’ve worked hard the last few weeks to achieve the result, very well deserved.
Emily Jones also grabbed a career best finish of 5th place driving forward all the way from 21st! An amazing result for the McLaren Shadow driver.
Brady Meyers finished a solid P6 for X-trim Motor Trimming with Madison Down finishing just behind in 7th after an incident cost him dearly late in the race.
Richard Hamstead finished just inside the Top 10 in 9th place for Biante Model Cars. A late race fuel issue caused some panic but Richard managed to sneak it home on fumes to limit damage for his championship.
Kurt Stenberg and Andrew Fraser finished solidly in 15th and 21st resepectively.
Jake Moloney and Shaun Kelly both had absolute bellringers in separate incidents completing writing off two Trans Tasman Racing Commodores.
